How does stamping work?
You apply a well-covering stamping polish to the design on the stamping plate and immediately scrape the excess polish off with a scraper. Then you roll the stamper over the design, so the image sticks to the pad. After that you transfer it onto your nail with a rolling motion. Work quickly, because stamping polish is made to dry very fast.
What do you need to get started?
The basics are a stamping plate, a stamper with scraper and an opaque stamping polish. A plate holder is handy because your plate then does not slide away while you scrape, and a head cleaner keeps your stamper pad clean and tacky. Do you want everything in one go? Then a complete stamping set is the easiest start.
Tips for a sharp print
Not working right away? That is usually not down to you. First make a new stamper slightly matte with a file or a piece of tape, so it picks up the polish better. Always use a real stamping polish and not a regular nail polish, because that is too thin. Clean your plate after every print and make sure the layer on your nail is completely dry or cured before you stamp.
