Chrome powder, also known as mirror powder, is an extremely fine pigment that you rub over a cured top coat. Because the particles are so fine, they lie completely smooth and create a real mirror shine. Glitter powder is coarser and gives loose, sparkling particles instead. How to apply chrome powder
Paint your nail in the colour you want and cure it. Then apply a no wipe top coat and cure it again, but do not wipe off the sticky layer. Pick up a small amount of powder with a silicone applicator or the sponge tool included and rub it over the nail in circular movements until it really starts to mirror. Wipe away the loose powder, file your sides clean and seal with a top coat over the whole nail.
Which effect do you choose?
A black or dark base gives the sharpest mirror effect with chrome, while aurora and mermaid powders show off a beautiful colour shift on lighter shades. Holo powders break the light into rainbow tones and reflective glitters light up brightly in flash, ideal for photos and parties. If you work with gel polish, these powders are the easiest to use, because you can cure the layers in between.
