Purple Shampoo
Blonde, bleached and grey hair drifts towards yellow or orange over time. A purple shampoo contains violet pigment, and violet sits opposite yellow on the colour wheel, which makes that yellow cast less noticeable. You do not use it every wash, but every few washes instead of your regular shampoo.

How do you use purple shampoo?
- Wash as usual first and rinse out.
- Apply the purple shampoo to wet hair and spread it evenly.
- Leave it in for the time on the packaging. Leaving it longer deposits more pigment, not necessarily a better result.
- Rinse well and finish with a conditioner or a hair mask.
Wear gloves if you would rather not have purple hands, and do not use it with every wash: too often can leave a greyish purple cast.

Yes. Purple shampoo, silver shampoo and anti-yellow shampoo are three names for the same principle: violet pigment that tones down yellow. Do not confuse it with hair dye, because these products do not colour your hair. They correct the tone that is already there.

If you want to keep a copper or warm brown, violet pigment is not what you are looking for.
