Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol comes from the seeds of the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia). It isn’t vitamin A, but in a comparative study with retinol it gave similar results: fine lines look softer and skin feels smoother and firmer. The big difference is that bakuchiol is usually less likely to irritate, which makes it popular with sensitive skin and anti-aging beginners.

Bakuchiol serum and cream

Bakuchiol serum: light and targeted

A bakuchiol serum is a great first introduction. The Bakuchiol Plumping Serum from Eqqualberry combines bakuchiol with humectants for a plumper feel. Apply a few drops to clean skin and finish with a cream. You can use it both morning and evening.

Bakuchiol creams and eye creams

Like to keep things simple? Choose a bakuchiol cream. The Bakuchiol Moisturizer from The Inkey List hydrates and cares for skin in one step, and the Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream from By Wishtrend is made for the evening. For the skin around your eyes, there’s the Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream from Haruharu Wonder.

Bakuchiol or retinol?

If your skin is resilient and you want faster results, retinol is the classic choice. If your skin easily turns red or dry, bakuchiol is a gentler alternative. It also pairs nicely with peptides and hyaluronic acid for a complete anti-aging routine.
